I currently serve as a consultant for the Office of Digital Teaching and Learning at the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, supporting the design and implementation of effective digital teaching and learning environments. I also serve as a consultant for digital accessibility and universal design for learning and co-lead the NC Accessible Educational Materials team. I have been engaged in the implementation of the North Carolina Digital-Age Learning Initiative, with a focus in the areas of digital content and virtual/blended learning. As a parent to a disabled child, I am passionate about inclusive design and the intersection of accessibility and technology.
I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Arts degree in Educational Media: Instructional Technology from Appalachian State University. My husband, Brian, and I live in Hickory. We have two children, a daughter-in-law, and a precious grandson .
