Digital Accessibility

  • Analyzed the current landscape of digital accessibility in North Carolina education and created a Digital Accessibility Plan, focused on change management and strategic actions to ensure accessibility for all stakeholders

  • Developed, and served as co-lead for, the North Carolina Accessible Educational Materials (AEM) Leadership Team, with a vision to design a comprehensive AEM system in the state

  • Engaged with state leaders in early learning, K-12, higher education, and workforce development to identify current digital accessibility and AEM landscape and develop a cohesive system across all areas

  • Served as a Statewide Digital Teaching and Learning Consultant for the North Carolina Digital Learning Initiative; Engaged in planning, development, and implementation of NCDLI

  • Chaired the Digital Content workgroup, in collaboration with leadership from The Friday Institute for Educational Innovation at N.C. State University

  • Developed the North Carolina Quality Review Tools for Digital Learning Resources

  • Partnered with the Professional Learning Team at The Friday Institute for Educational Innovation at N.C. State University to plan and facilitate the North Carolina Digital Leaders Coaching Network

Open Educational Resources Initiative

  • Led the project development and implementation for the North Carolina Open Educational Resources (OER) initiative

  • Partnered with non-formal education organizations (e.g,. Libraries, museums, non-profits) to align resources to content standards and share digital content with educators and students

  • Served on procurement team to select and implement a modern content development and sharing system to facilitate district access to high quality learning resources

  • Developed and facilitated professional learning series to build capacity within North Carolina 

  • Established cohort of educators leaders who served as North Carolina Digital Content Ambassadors; guided development of supports and resources for educators as they find, evaluate, and use digital resources
